Wondered if anyone else saw this on SciFi the past couple days. It is a spin off of sorts of the wizard of oz, though it is significantly different story wise, with plenty of hints to relate to the original. (For those who missed it they are re-airing all three episodes Sunday) I personally really liked it though I thought it cut out to soon at the end.

P.S. In case you haven't figured it out I am trying not to spoil anything for those who didn't see it but wish to.

I thought it was pretty good. Nice big SciFi test on the old version. Would prefer to watch it over the original but that is probably because I am a guy. But then again my girlfriend really liked it too. All and all it was good and their were ALOT of things that indicated the original.

Just pulling from my closed thread...

I never watch the Sci-Fi channel, but I caught one of the Tin Man commercials on some other channel, and I was interested. The idea of reinterpreting The Wizard of Oz is great.

I'm sure I wasn't alone in watching it, and I'm sure I'm not one of just a few that waited patiently for something really interesting to happen in the first 2-hour show. There were things that I liked, but sadly I was more disappointed than anything else.

- Is this typical of Zooey Deschanel? I was thinking maybe she didn't get paid well and it was showing. It could be that they asked her to be as plain and uninteresting as possible and that she took it to the extreme.

- Glitch was pretty boring too.

- Tin Man turned from Rob Zombie on steroids to a gay cowboy in no time.

Concepts I liked:

- Ability for the bad guys to creating tornados and storms at the time they attack.

- The object that allows images to be displayed to trick people, like the Tin Man.

- The strange dwarf people, even though it makes no sense at all that they wouldn't all be dead considering the difference in strengths between them and the "witch's" soldiers.

- Raw / the psychic aspect.

The ending seemed rather sudden... I kinda wish the fate of all the characters and story's aftermath were explained rather than rushing through the credits at first opportunity. Otherwise I enjoyed Tin-Man quite a bit.

It was a miniseries Shar, so it wasn't going to go on for a full 5 months or whatever it is.

As for Woop. I think that was just the way they wanted her to show the character, not the way she herself would of portrayed her though it was similar to the way she acted in elf imo. And because the tin man, Cain, showed heart and feelings you say he's gay? He was simply showing that he cared about his son and family and his friends. It doesn't make him gay.
